Governance and Compliance Specialist

The Governance Officer is a key member of the University of Saskatchewan's Governance Office, providing essential support to the University Secretary and Chief Governance Officer in their exercise of powers and duties pertaining to university governance and protocol.
Key Responsibilities- Support the University Secretary and Chief Governance Officer in their governance and protocol responsibilities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of engagement strategies for stakeholders of university governance.
- Provide support to the University Secretary, university leadership, and relevant committees in the oversight and interpretation of institutional policies and bylaws.
- Manage statutory governance processes, including elections and membership roles.
- Coordinate orientations, committee meetings, and Senate meetings, as well as distribute calls for agenda items and prepare reports.
Accountabilities:
- Manage a portfolio of statutory governance processes.
- Ensure strong links between administration and governing bodies.
- Operationalize Governance Office strategy.
- Manage discrete projects and research.
- Integrate Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Indigenization strategies into assigned projects.
