Senior Accountant Role at 7shifts

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team at 7shifts Employee Scheduling Software Inc.

About the Role

This is a critical position that requires a seasoned accounting professional with expertise in revenue accounting. As the Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing our revenue accounting environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monthly Close Activities: Perform tasks such as journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analyses to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Revenue Recognition: Own the monthly revenue recognition process in NetSuite and drive revenue recognition in accordance with IFRS 15.
  • Accounting Policy Memos: Research, interpret, and prepare detailed accounting policy memos to support revenue accounting treatment under IFRS 15.
  • Sales Tax Compliance: Oversee sales tax compliance within Avalara and partner with internal stakeholders to track and record transactions relating to revenue-sharing arrangements.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and maintain up-to-date internal control and process documentation to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Quarterly Reports: Produce quarterly external investor reports and support annual financial statement audit processes.
Your Background

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting with a focus on revenue.
  • Experience using NetSuite or Stripe.
  • A Professional Accounting Designation (CPA).
  • Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, leveraging these tools for advanced formulas and summarizing calculations.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and executing on internal controls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in identifying discrepancies.
  • An innovative thinker with a passion for process improvement and automation.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per year, based on experience, to attract and retain top talent in the industry.
