Your Opportunity:

As a member of the Alberta Health Services Pharmacy Services team, the Pharmacist I will provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives by collaborating with clients, physicians, and the healthcare team to optimize patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the client, physician, and interdisciplinary team to optimize patient care
  • Utilize Additional Prescribing Authorization to optimize patient medication regimens
  • Optimize therapy for acute and chronic disease management
  • Empower clients in managing their medical conditions through promotion of healthy lifestyle choices, client education, and direct client care
  • Facilitate smooth transitions between care settings for our patients

Professional Development:

Professional practice development and growth are fostered through the provision of educational days and support from dedicated Clinical Practice Leaders. We place an emphasis on the training of pharmacists, pharmacy students, and residents, and involve all pharmacists in precepting our future professionals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hospital pharmacy residency
  • Prior hospital experience or active in a direct patient care role
  • Ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independently
  • Ability to use evidence-based medicine in direct patient care
