About This Role

The BC Public Service Agency is seeking an exceptional Senior Psychologist to join our Child and Youth Mental Health team. Job Summary

As a Senior Psychologist, you will work collaboratively with a dynamic group of dedicated professionals to provide high-quality mental health services to children and youth. You will be responsible for recruiting and mentoring future psychologists, developing and implementing training programs, and contributing to the advancement of mental health initiatives. You will also have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, including those from Indigenous communities.

Responsibilities

Some key responsibilities of this role include:

- Recruiting and mentoring future psychologists to join our team
- Developing and implementing training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of current psychologists
- Contributing to the advancement of mental health initiatives, including research and policy development
- Working collaboratively with other professionals to provide high-quality mental health services to children and youth
- Developing and maintaining relationships with community partners and stakeholders

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

- A Ph.D. in Clinical/Applied Psychology, Counselling Psychology, OR PsyD, and registration with, or eligibility for, registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia as a Psychologist
- Completion of a psychological pre- or post-doctoral internship of 1600 hours in a child and youth mental health or hospital setting with specialization in formal psychological assessment, diagnoses, and treatment of mental health disorders
- Experience in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology
- Minimum of 1 year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community-based mental health services

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, we encourage applicants with 2+ years of experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community-based mental health services. We also welcome applicants who self-identify as having an Indigenous heritage (First Nations, Métis or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.

- Competitive salary: $92,055.05 - $122,390.12 annually
