Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance and Privacy Lead to join our team at FortisAlberta. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining the highest standards of privacy practices.

Key Responsibilities
In this union role, based in Calgary or Airdrie, you will:
* Monitor current and emergent trends in compliance-related legislation and industry best practices.
* Develop and implement a monitoring program to assess compliance program effectiveness.
* Collect and analyze relevant data related to compliance metrics and generate reports and dashboards for program performance evaluation.
* Oversee policy management framework, ensuring existing company policies are maintained and updated, as well as develop new policies and training programs as required.
* Prepare compliance reports for Senior Management and the FortisAlberta Board of Directors.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Knowledge and understanding of applicable compliance and privacy legislation and regulations.
* Thorough understanding of applicable governance and risk management standards, and excellent grasp of risk management principles, tools, and methods.
* Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze and interpret information from various sources, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
* Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Bachelor's degree in a related field plus a minimum of seven (7) years in a compliance or privacy role; Experience in leading projects would be an asset. Experience working in a regulated environment, preferably within the electrical utility industry, would be an asset.

What We Offer
This role provides competitive benefits, a robust pension plan (no matching required), and a $3,000 annual education fund. The estimated salary range for this position is between $95,000 - $130,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
