Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker to join our team at Hardy Terrace Long-Term Care Home. As a Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Provide personal care, including toileting, feeding, and transferring residents
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, including walking, standing, and using wheelchairs or stretchers
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by healthcare professionals
  • Monitor and report changes in resident condition to healthcare professionals
  • Participate in recreational activities and social events to promote resident engagement and well-being
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, including laundry, housekeeping, and infection control
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
Requirements
  • Completion of a Personal Support Worker program or equivalent experience
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift, bend, and stand for long periods
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
