Key Responsibilities:

  • Consult with physicians and the Health Center Charge Nurse to work within an expanded scope of practice providing healthcare services and conducting general treatment in a specialist clinic atmosphere
  • Mental Health care knowledge and experience is an asset in this position
  • Apply your experience utilizing the skills of observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, counseling, and health teaching according to the established care plan
  • Ensure that, on an ongoing basis, the emotional, spiritual, physical comfort and safety of clients are met to the greatest possible extent within the scope of practice
  • Utilize strong assessment skills, exceptional interpersonal skills, and proven ability to effectively communicate to handle difficult situations in an objective consistent format

Requirements:

  • You are a graduate from an accredited School of Nursing and have a nursing license through the provincial governing body in good standing
  • You have or are willing to obtain a nursing license through the British Columbia College of Nurse and Midwives (BCCNM) as required
  • You have at least 1500 hours (min. one year) of varied nursing experience within the last 1-2 years
  • You are confident and skilled to evaluate the need for further assessment outside of the community if necessary
