About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team at Thankful Too Seafood as a Fish Weigher. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate weighing and packing of fish and shellfish products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation and Handling: Transport fish and shellfish to the work area, ensuring they are properly stored and handled to prevent damage.
  • Weighing and Packing: Weigh fish or shellfish, record the weight, and pack them in ice to maintain freshness.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean machines and immediate work areas to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Sorting and Preparation: Sort fish according to species, weight, and destination, and disjoint and remove meat from lobsters or other crustaceans preparatory to canning or further processing.
Work Environment

As a Fish Weigher at Thankful Too Seafood, you will work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures, odors, and noise levels. You must be able to work in a cold, refrigerated environment and be comfortable with wet and damp conditions.

Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.
  • Experience: We will provide training for the right candidate.
  • Physical Demands: This role requires standing for extended periods, handling heavy loads, and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Personal Suitability: You must have excellent oral communication skills, be a team player, and demonstrate flexibility and reliability.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent position with a variable schedule of 30 to 40 hours per week. You will work in a team environment and be required to communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
