Fish Processing Specialist Job Description

Thankful Too Seafood is seeking a skilled Fish Processing Specialist to join our team. As a Fish Processing Specialist, you will be responsible for transporting fish and shellfish to the work area, weighing and recording the weight, and packing fish in ice. You will also be responsible for cleaning machines and immediate work areas, sorting fish according to species, weight, and destination, and disjointing and removing meat from lobsters or other crustaceans preparatory to canning or further processing.

Work Environment

The work environment is noisy, with odours present. The temperature is cold/refrigerated, and the work area is wet/damp. You will be required to stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads.

Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Experience: Will train
  • Physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, attention to detail
  • Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, reliability, team player
Working Conditions

The working conditions are 35 hours per week, with a permanent work term. The work language is English.
