Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Acute Care

Nestled in the heart of Diamond Valley, Alberta, the Oilfields General Hospital offers a unique and diverse nursing opportunity in a Patient Family Centered Care environment. As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Acute Care, you will work collaboratively with a variety of disciplines to provide comprehensive and complex care to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership through assessment, planning, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of patient care
  • Work in a fast-paced unit requiring lifting, pushing, pulling of objects greater than 50lbs
  • Collaborate with LPNs, Health Care Aides, Rehabilitation Staff, Pharmacy, and Physicians to provide safe and quality patient care
  • Engage in health promotion, chronic disease management, and enhancing patient activities of daily living
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
  • 1-year recent experience up to full-time equivalent in a similar acute care setting
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-year recent experience up to full-time equivalent working in an emergency department
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, effective decision making, and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated Palliative Care experience
