Life Enrichment Programmer

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to join our team as a Life Enrichment Programmer at Hawthorn Park Retirement Community. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in enhancing the physical, cultural, social, spiritual, and intellectual development of our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement meaningful recreation programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
  • Collaborate with the Life Enrichment Manager to plan and organize programs that promote resident engagement and well-being.
  • Supervise and support volunteers assigned to the Life Enrichment department.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents, staff, and community members.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies in all Life Enrichment programs.
  • Communicate effectively with the Life Enrichment Manager and other departments to ensure seamless program delivery.
  • Hold a valid Class 4 Driver's License and be able to drive the Hawthorn Park bus for activity purposes.
  • Obtain Standard First Aid, Serving It Right, and Food Safe certifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2-year college diploma in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, Gerontology, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
