Role Responsibilities

We are seeking dedicated Child and Youth Care Workers at the CYCW 1 classification to provide direct care and support to vulnerable youth in a trauma-informed environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct services to ensure a safe and secure environment for youth in care.
  • Assess, identify, and implement the specific needs and direct program delivery for vulnerable youth.
  • Work directly with youth, their families, and as a member of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Develop and implement approved plans to determine achievement goals for individual youth.
  • Provide input to the multi-disciplinary team based on observations and direct interaction with the child.

Working Environment:

Positions in this class may work in either an open or secure environment, serving Alberta's high-risk youth population between ages 12-17.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a trauma-informed environment.
