Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is currently hiring a Materials and Geotechnical Field Research Assistant to join our team. This exciting opportunity allows individuals to gain valuable experience in geotechnical engineering while working on dynamic projects.
About the PositionThe successful candidate will work under the direction of the Laboratory Supervisor to perform laboratory and field-testing services. They will work closely with an experienced team of engineers and technicians to develop their skills and knowledge in geotechnical and materials engineering.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, travel to various sites, and perform a range of tasks including sampling, field data collection, and laboratory testing. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and demonstrate initiative and ability to multi-task.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to sites for field data collection and sampling
- Inspect drill and test pit investigations
- Conduct laboratory tests in soils, concrete, and asphalt laboratories
- Input test data into laboratory software programs and review generated reports for accuracy
- Operate computerized and digital testing equipment
To be considered for this role, applicants must have a related academic background and relevant work experience. A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent is preferred, along with effective communication skills, a valid New Brunswick Driver's License, and access to their own personal vehicle.
