Business Systems Analyst for Financial Markets

We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst to join our team in Toronto, Canada.
About the RoleThis is a challenging opportunity to contribute to the success of our Accounting Policy and Procedures Group. As a Business Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for implementing Hedging Strategies under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) to ensure the Bank qualifies eligible derivatives for hedge accounting treatment.
Duties and Responsibilities- Collaborate with Derivative Hedge Qualifications staff and IT support for Hedge Accounting & qualification System (HAQS) to monitor HAQS performance and resolve production issues promptly.
- Investigate HAQS errors /abnormal behavior in collaboration with other DHQ staff and HAQS support; help other team members to raise JIRA, prioritize JIRA/change request, perform/review UAT test, and ensure the production release are implemented properly.
- Investigate and resolve incorrect hedge accounting outcomes in EGL due to upstream or downstream system issues.
- Draft business requirements for HAQS change/enhancement including HAQS regular release and large projects; bridge the gap between DHQ and technology sides.
- Oversee HAQS regular releases and large projects, ensuring seamless communication between DHQ and technology teams.
- Champion smart automation including EUC automation and system-related controls.
- Self-driven, analytical, and collaborative; problem-solving, time-management, and communication skills required.
- 4+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst – need strong experience with requirement gathering and documentation creation.
- 4+ year combined experience JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, MS Office suite or equivalent tools.
- A recognized undergraduate degree in business administration, accounting, finance, computer science, or related field required. A CPA or CFA designation desirable.
- Knowledge of Peak or other trading system, HAQS, PeopleSoft EGL, OBI.
