About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Support Specialist to join our team at the BC Centre for Disease Control. As an Administrative Support Specialist, you will provide administrative support to our TB Chest Clinics, ensuring the smooth operation of our clinics and providing excellent customer service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Entry and Record Management: Perform data entry functions and maintain accurate records, including client information and medical reports.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to our clinicians, including preparing medical reports, charts, and other documents.
  • Communication: Respond to routine correspondence, answer general inquiries, and provide direction and information to clients, staff, and the public.
  • Reception and Switchboard: Operate a multi-line switchboard, receive and direct visitors, and perform reception duties.
  • Financial Transactions: Receive, record, and balance financial transactions, including receiving payments and issuing receipts.
  • Office Administration: Maintain office supplies, operate office equipment, and perform minor maintenance tasks.
Requirements
  • Education: Post-secondary graduation from a recognized business or secretarial program, supplemented by a course in medical and/or scientific terminology.
  • Experience: Three years of administrative experience in a medical/scientific environment.
  • Skills: Computer literacy, problem-solving, customer service, sound judgment, organization, and strong interpersonal skills.
