We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Recreation Therapy Associate to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a member of our healthcare team, you will provide support to clients and families through the application of recreation intervention to support holistic functioning.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have a post-secondary diploma with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation from an accredited educational institution. You will also have experience working with individuals with physical/cognitive disabilities and the ability to work effectively within a team or other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide interventions to groups or individuals in inpatient, outpatient or community settings, related to the client's leisure needs and overall plan of care.
- Assist in the plan, develop, implement and evaluation of Recreation programs.
- Work effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Post-secondary diploma with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation from an accredited educational institution.
- Experience working with individuals with physical/cognitive disabilities.
- Ability to work effectively within a team or other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to assist in the plan, develop, implement and evaluation of Recreation programs.
We offer a competitive salary of $25.95 per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan.
