About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a member of our collaborative healthcare team, you will provide support to patients, families, and inter-professional team members.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor of Recreation specializing in Therapeutic Recreation and a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist certification. Experience with Responsive Behavior plan development and knowledge of Therapeutic Recreation assessments and processes are assets. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are also an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment, intervention plan development, and evidence-informed interventions to patients and families.
  • Develop and implement recreation therapy services in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Recreation specializing in Therapeutic Recreation.
  • Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist certification.
  • Knowledge and application of Therapeutic Recreation assessments and processes.
  • Experience with Responsive Behavior plan development an asset.
  • Competencies in other languages, particularly French, an asset.
