Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Communications Lead to support our efforts on one of the largest municipal infrastructure replacement projects in Canadian history. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies, engaging with the community, and working closely with our project team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be the primary point of contact for community communications
  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans to inform and engage the community about project progress
  • Prepare and distribute regular project updates and other communications to community members and stakeholders
  • Organize and participate in community meetings, public consultations, and other engagement activities
  • Respond to community inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally
  • Coordinate with project team members to gather and disseminate accurate and timely information
  • Assist in the preparation of press releases, media statements, and other public relations materials
  • Develop and maintain a database of community contacts and stakeholders
  • Monitor and report on community feedback and sentiment to the project team
  • Ensure all communication materials adhere to company standards and project requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Commerce, or a related field
  • Experience in community relations, public engagement, or communication roles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with social media platforms and content management systems
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with the construction industry and project lifecycle is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with community members and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software

Location

This role will be based in Prince Rupert, BC, and will require travel to project sites as needed.
