Emergency Department Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at Headwaters Health Care Centre. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide general and specialized nursing duties and work assignments on a daily basis according to the standards of Nursing Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario, and approved standards of care of the Corporation.
- Perform duties expected of a Registered Nurse within Emergency Department, including triage, assessment, and treatment of patients.
- Work independently under medical directives and demonstrate critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to maintain current certifications and skills.
- Current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current certification CTAS training/experience (preferred).
- 1-2 years recent Emergency Room experience (preference will be given to those candidates with Emergency Department experience).
- CTAS Triage Certified in 6 months (preferred) (CTAS Triage Certified to be completed within 6 months of hire).
- Medical Directives certification in 6 months (Medical Directives certification to be completed within 6 months of hire).
- ACLS certification and experience.
- CPR certification.
- Delegated Controlled Act – Defibrillation.
- IV Therapy initiation and maintenance (Parenteral Therapy).
- Trauma Management course (TNCC) or equivalent (preferred).
- Coronary Care course – Level 1 or equivalent.
- Critical Care or Emergency Room courses (asset).
- Able to work independently under medical directives.
- Experience with pediatrics (preferred).
- PALS or ENPC course (preferred).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrated critical thinking decision-making skills.
- Acceptable performance and attendance records.
