Emergency Department Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at Headwaters Health Care Centre. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to the delivery of high-quality emergency services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide general and specialized nursing duties and work assignments in the Emergency Department, adhering to the standards of Nursing Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario and approved standards of care of the Corporation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and departmental performance.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and caregivers to ensure a positive and supportive care environment.
- Current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current certification in CTAS training/experience (preferred).
- 1-2 years recent Emergency Room experience (preference will be given to those candidates with Emergency Department experience).
- CTAS Triage Certified in 6 months (preferred).
- Medical Directives certification in 6 months.
- ACLS certification and experience.
- CPR certification.
- Delegated Controlled Act – Defibrillation.
- IV Therapy initiation and maintenance (Parenteral Therapy).
- Trauma Management course (TNCC) or equivalent (preferred).
- Coronary Care course – Level 1 or equivalent.
- Critical Care or Emergency Room courses (asset).
- Able to work independently under medical directives.
- Experience with pediatrics (preferred).
- PALS or ENPC course (preferred).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrated critical thinking decision-making skills.
- Acceptable performance and attendance records.
