The Role
We are seeking a skilled Setup and Operations Technician to join our team at Mitchell Plastics. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating injection moulding equipment, ensuring processes are running within specified tolerances, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and start up moulding machine, auxiliary equipment, and tooling as specified on the set-up master.
- Ensure processes are running within the tolerances of the set-up master.
- Notify the Production Supervisor of any processes outside of tolerances specified or nonconforming processes.
- Document all set-up changes outside the tolerances of the set-up master.
- Verify colour feeders are set to set up master and products produced meet quality standards.
- Adhere to all relevant Safety Procedures: lock-out/tag-out, equipment inspection, etc.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have a good basic understanding of the injection moulding process, well-developed mechanical/technical abilities, and be eager to learn and attend training courses. They must also be in good physical condition, with the ability to climb into tight places, underneath machines, and on top of machines.
They will need to be a very quality-conscious team member, dedicated to working in a neat, organized, and efficient manner. The successful candidate must be flexible in working hours and shift and be willing to work overtime when necessary.
