Job Overview

Export Development Canada (EDC) is a financial Crown corporation dedicated to helping Canadian businesses expand their international presence. As a Model Validation Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our models, which are used to make informed business decisions.

The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in quantitative analysis and model risk management principles. You will work closely with our Model Risk Management team to develop, maintain, and improve our model risk management program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent end-to-end validation of our models, identifying key risks and developing a risk-based validation approach.
  • Design, implement, and conduct validation tests, identifying gaps in model governance and drafting a model validation report.
  • Collaborate with business areas to find solutions adapted to EDC's size, complexity, and specific mandate.
  • Maintain and implement principles, practices, processes, and standards pertaining to EDC's Model Governance Framework.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Statistics, Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Finance.
  • Strong foundation in applied probabilistic modeling, time series analysis, and statistical inference.
  • Proficiency with SAS and/or other data software like R or C/C++/C#, Python, MATLAB, Database (Oracle, SQL etc.).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in model risk management or related experience.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $81,012 to $108,017 annually, based on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time contract position with the possibility of relocation assistance for eligible candidates.
