Salary

The salary range for this position is $81,012 to $108,017 annually, based on qualifications and experience.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced risk management specialist to join our Model Risk Management team. As a model validation advisor, your primary responsibility will be to conduct independent end-to-end validation of various models used across the organization. This includes identifying key risks associated with each model, planning a risk-based validation approach and scope, designing, implementing, and conducting validation tests, and drafting a model validation report.

In addition to model validation, you will also contribute as a subject matter expert on model risk practices and assist in implementing the Model Risk Governance Framework at EDC. Your technical and business expertise, combined with strong communication and interpersonal skills, will enable you to engage and consult with business areas to find solutions adapted to EDC's size, complexity, and specific mandate.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A strong foundation in applied probabilistic modeling, time series analysis, and statistical inference.
  • Proficiency with SAS and/or other data software such as R or C/C++/C#, Python, MATLAB, Database (Oracle, SQL etc.).
  • Model validation experience and working knowledge of model risk management principles and practices.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in model risk management or related experience.
  • Bilingual in both official languages (French and English).
  • Professional designations such as Fellow of the Actuarial Society, Financial/Professional Risk Manager, Accounting designations.
