About the Role

This regular full-time training opportunity combines theoretical foundations with practical experience, preparing you to work in our esteemed Island Health specialty department.

  • Upon completion, you will be placed in a regular full-time rotation line in your chosen specialty department.
  • As a trainee, you will receive sponsorship for tuition, books, and paid release from your current job to become a full-time student in the sponsoring unit.
Key Responsibilities

Your primary duties will include:

  • Planning and providing direct nursing care to patients/residents in accordance with unit/program philosophy, competency guidelines, policies, and BCCNM Standards for Nursing Practice in British Columbia.
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues, physicians, community agency representatives, patients, residents, and families.
  • Demonstrating ability to organize workload and set priorities.
Qualifications and Requirements

To be eligible for this opportunity, you must:

  • Be a registered practicing RN with recent related medical and/or surgical experience.
  • Hold a valid registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Complete distance prerequisite courses by early March 2025.
Estimated Salary

The estimated hourly rate for this position is $41.42 - $59.52, resulting in an estimated annual salary of approximately $86,656 - $123,027.
