Job Title: Registered Nurse

Job Summary:

Northern Health Region is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our interprofessional team to achieve excellent patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume professional responsibilities and comply with clinical practice standards and regional policies and procedures for the coordination and delivery of patient/client/elder care in the assigned areas.
  • Work within an interprofessional team and function within the provisions of the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) Standards of Practice in accordance with level of expertise, training, and experience.
  • Have the authority to make clinical practice decisions and delegate duties to other health care workers as appropriate.
  • May be assigned Charge responsibility for a unit(s) and will be expected to assume those responsibilities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Current active practicing registration with College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
  • Current certification from a recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider, or obtain within three (3) months of commencing employment
  • Acute Care of at-Risk Newborns (ACORN) course or acceptable equivalent
  • Fetal Health Surveillance
  • Intrapartum Nursing
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Must obtain training on Provincial Breastfeeding education within six (6) months of commencing a position
  • Two (2) years recent experience in applicable department/unit/program
  • Working knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet
  • Satisfactory employment record required
  • Successful candidate subject to provide security checks in accordance with Security Checks for Employment Policy (HR-02-80). Waived for internal candidates with current checks on file.
