As an Agricultural Health and Safety Professional at GROWMARK, Inc., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of our employees and the safety of our operations.

Salary:

We offer a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $70,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Job Responsibilities:

The Agricultural Health and Safety Professional will assist in various projects relating to health and safety at all business locations in Ontario. This includes identifying and evaluating occupational health, safety, hazardous environmental conditions, and practices in the workplace.

  • Conduct on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices to ensure compliance with relevant legislation or in response to concerns from employees and managers.
  • Stay current with trends and changes to health and safety legislations and standards, anticipating their impact on our agricultural operations.
  • Research and recommend technology and relevant trends related to safety matters, assisting with the implementation of existing processes.
  • Review Safety Data Sheets database for Canada to ensure compliance with inventory products.
  • Assist with tracking and filing of Health & Safety related licenses and training records.
  • Participate in health & safety meetings.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong foundation in health and safety principles and practices. You should have completed 3rd year of BA in a related field, and a full G driving license to drive a company vehicle.

You must be able to travel independently and work in a fast-paced environment. The incumbent may encounter moderate to occasionally high mental stress increases when dealing with incidents.

This position requires the ability to lift 25 lbs, utilize manlifts, stairs and ladders to inspect facilities, and spend time both in office and at the branches.

Working Conditions:

Additional hours, or time outside of the normal business hours, may be necessary due to operational requirements. Traveling will be required.
