Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Operations Manager to join our team at Volt Raceway. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our kitchen, ensuring that we deliver high-quality food in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to develop their leadership skills while contributing to an innovative culinary operation. As a Kitchen Operations Manager, you will work closely with our Head Chef and Sous Chef to ensure that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Kitchen Leadership Support: Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in overseeing the kitchen's day-to-day operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow during service times.
  • Food Preparation & Cooking: Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation, ensuring that all dishes meet the high standards of quality, consistency, and creativity.
  • Menu Execution & Quality Control: Help execute the menu during service, ensuring that each dish is prepared to the exact specifications and presented beautifully.
  • Staff Supervision & Training: Support the training and development of junior kitchen staff, providing hands-on guidance, mentorship, and support to line cooks and kitchen assistants.
  • Health & Safety Standards: Ensure all kitchen operations adhere to food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards, monitoring kitchen hygiene and managing safe food handling practices.
  • Inventory & Stock Management: Help manage kitchen inventory, monitor stock levels, and assist in ordering ingredients and supplies, ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently without waste or shortage.
Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of professional kitchen experience, preferably in a pub, bar, or high-volume restaurant.
  • Culinary Education: Culinary degree or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards.
  • Leadership: Excellent communication and leadership skills, able to motivate and inspire the team while ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Passion for Food: A genuine passion for food and hospitality, with a desire to learn, grow, and experiment with new techniques and dishes.
