About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Economic Development Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving economic growth and development in Peterborough County.

Key Responsibilities
  • Craft and Drive Strategy: Develop and implement innovative economic development strategies that promote long-term regional growth.
  • Champion Business Initiatives: Manage all aspects of business development, creating initiatives that attract new ventures, retain and expand existing ones, and fuel job creation and economic diversification.
  • Shape Policies and Strategies: Play a key role in the development and implementation of region-wide strategies, structures, and policies to build a future-ready community for all.
  • Engage and Advise: Offer guidance and input to public agencies, business improvement area boards, community and neighborhood associations, and internal service units of the County, increasing investment and support of local business prosperity.
  • Network: Create networks with business and community leaders, potential investors, other levels of municipal government, and non-governmental agencies to promote the County as a location of choice for investment and employment growth.
  • Collaborate: Work collaboratively with various departments to ensure consistent and effective communication across the County.
