Job Title: Front Desk Clerk, Hotel

Viking Inn is seeking a skilled and friendly Front Desk Clerk to join our team. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our guests, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable stay.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Register arriving guests and assign rooms in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Process group arrivals and departures, taking care to ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Take, cancel, and change room reservations as needed, maintaining accurate records.
  • Provide general information about points of interest in the area, enhancing the guest experience.
  • Process guests' departures, calculate charges, and receive payments in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports, and related forms with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations, and room assignments, ensuring optimal room utilization.
  • Follow emergency and safety procedures, prioritizing guest safety and well-being.
  • Clerical duties, including faxing, filing, and photocopying, are also an essential part of this role.
  • Answer telephone calls and relay messages, providing excellent communication skills.
  • Assist clients/guests with special needs, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
  • Contact customers to deliver requested wake-up calls, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Provide customer service, resolving issues and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.

Experience:
  • Experience an asset: previous experience in a similar role is beneficial but not required.
