About the Role

The Contracts Administrator Lead will report to the Manager of Contracts and be responsible for influencing successful business outcomes, providing business, contractual, and risk mitigation strategy guidance, and analyzing new laws, regulations, and contract trends for potential impact on business unit goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Influencing successful business outcomes in order to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow for new and continuing programs.
  2. Providing business, contractual, and risk mitigation strategy guidance.
  3. Analyzing new laws, regulations, and contract trends for potential impact on business unit goals and objectives.
  4. Protecting the interest of the company by understanding and interpreting contractual terms and conditions.
  5. Analyzing significant and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms, and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies and procedures.
  6. Managing the contractual review of solicitations, proposal development, contract change control process, and overall contract administration.
  7. Establishing and maintaining primary contractual interface with the customer.
  8. Maximizing cash through innovative contract formation and negotiation to achieve business objectives.
  9. Upon receiving requests to bid, reviewing proposed terms and conditions to identify contractual and legal implications and providing appropriate comments to management.
  10. Ensuring that risks in each project are covered by terms and conditions.
  11. Negotiating terms and conditions of each contract and documenting each step.
  12. Writing contractual clauses and various project administration correspondence.
  13. Managing large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction.
  14. Communicating within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes, and approaches.
  15. Making significant improvements in processes, systems, or products.
  16. Explaining, interpreting, and gaining cooperation on policies, procedures, and practices.
  17. Providing input into new products/processes and implementing operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  2. Strong negotiations skills and knowledge of company legal terms and conditions.
  3. Bilingual, French and English (oral and written).
  4. Business acumen and strong business writing skill.
Preferred Additional Skills
  1. Experience with development contracts, production, sustainment, and services.
  2. Previous experience within the aerospace industry.
  3. Contract administration experience with military, international, domestic, and US Government.
  4. Strong negotiations skills and experience including terms and conditions, requirements, pricing, IP, data rights, etc.
  5. Proficient in providing risk mitigation plans to programs related to source selection.
  6. Able to work and communicate effectively across functions.
  7. Able to work in a high-pressure environment, able to meet deadlines and expectations, able to multi-task.
Eligibility Criteria
  1. Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program.
  2. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance.
  3. Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
