About the Role:
The Alberta Health Services is seeking a skilled Psychiatric Aide to join our team at the Turningpoint Program, an 18-bed inpatient forensic unit that supports youths and young adults who are in conflict with the law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to meet the personal care needs and comforts of patients in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures.
- Assist nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs.
- Observe and report on a patient's mood, health, well-being, and maintain effective communication with patients and health professionals.
- Assist with the maintenance of a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, and assist in the general support of the work area.
Requirements:
- Completion of Grade 12.
- A combination of education and experience satisfactory to the employer will also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience providing care to an adolescent population.
