Job Summary
Maintenance Technician - Industrial Mechanic/Millwright
Meridia Recruitment Solutions is seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanic/Millwright to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the installation, removal, repair, and preventative maintenance of rotating equipment within our manufacturing floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and install various types of pulp moulding machinery, pumps, motors, fans, compressors, shafts, pulleys, hoists, conveyors, and other related rotating equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on the equipment to ensure smooth operations.
- Install power drives in correct positions, align power shafts and pulleys, and assist in the organization and scheduling of preventive maintenance routines.
- Utilize technical expertise to recommend equipment upgrades based on economical and professional judgment and notify the Lead Hand or Supervisor of potential hazards and required corrective actions.
- Use drawings, blueprints, schematics, and equipment specifications to assist with duties.
- Maintain a clean work environment, work with and assist other tradespersons as needed, and perform all duties in accordance with the Nova Scotia Occupational Health and Safety Act, government rules and regulations, and company policies.
Requirements
- Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certification, with preference given to candidates possessing a Red Seal certification.
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting or industrial maintenance, is preferred.
- Familiarity with Provincial Occupational Health and Safety legislation and safety best practices is an asset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
