About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Bartender to join our team at Hearthstone Inn - Port Hawkesbury. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a memorable experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean the bar area and wash glassware to maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Inventory Management: Order bar stock and maintain inventory and control of bar stock to ensure we have the necessary supplies to meet customer demand.
  • Customer Service: Provide recommendations on drink selections, take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons, and collect cash, credit/debit cards or other payment for beverages.
  • Training and Development: Train staff on mixology techniques and procedures to ensure consistency and quality in our drinks.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations to ensure we are operating within the law.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Conditions: Work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of pressure to meet customer demands.
  • Physical Demands: Stand for extended periods and move quickly and efficiently to meet customer needs.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Schedule: 30 to 35 hours per week.
