Sushi Chef Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Sushi Chef to join our team at SUSHI HOUSE BANFF. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking sushi dishes to a high standard, while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook sushi dishes to order, using fresh and high-quality ingredients.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and service.
  • Plan and prepare menus, taking into account seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies, ensuring timely delivery and quality control.
Requirements:
  • 3-4 years of experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably in sushi preparation.
  • Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced environment.
