Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist to join our team at PHSA. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality care to individuals with complex mental health and substance use challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct healthcare services to clients with a wide range of mental health and substance use issues, including assessment, treatment, and support.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop treatment plans that address the unique needs of each client.
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families on mental health and substance use issues.
  • Collaborate with community resources and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN or RPN with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Two years' recent experience providing acute or community health nursing care/services to clients with complex mental health and substance use challenges.
  • Working knowledge of community health nursing theory, including mental health and addictions, and practice within a client-centered approach.
  • Working knowledge of BCCNM Standards for Nursing Practice.
  • Knowledge of the BC Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation.
