Assistant Store Manager

At Metro, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will play a critical role in driving sales growth, improving operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Store Manager in achieving sales, profit, and margin targets, while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Implement merchandising programs, procedures, and processes to maximize operational efficiencies and profitability.
- Work with Department Managers to establish productivity goals and operational standards, ensuring merchandise is ordered and displayed according to company planograms.
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff, ensuring a customer-focused shopping environment and promoting a positive work culture.
- Actively participate in store-based initiatives to enhance community involvement and the store's image as a supporter of community activities.
- Maintain strong working relationships with vendors and union business representatives.
- College or University education.
- 3 to 5 years of progressive management experience in retail (grocery preferred).
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
- Good business acumen, strong communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership and time management skills.
