Fleet Operations Manager

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of EllisDon's equipment division in Calgary, AB.

Oxford Builders Supplies Inc. is a leading provider of equipment and maintenance services to the construction industry. As a Fleet Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our fleet, including the maintenance, repair, and replacement of equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fleet management program, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Oversee the administration of a preventative maintenance program, ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained and repaired.
  • Plan and execute the replacement of equipment based on approved criteria, ensuring that the division operates with the latest technology and equipment.
  • Supervise the maintenance and repair of the fleet, ensuring that all work is performed to the highest standards and in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Establish specifications for the procurement of all on and off-road equipment, ensuring that the division operates with the best possible equipment.
  • Assign and supervise the work of other professional staff, evaluating their performance and ensuring the use of safety practices and procedures.
  • Communicate with customers, the public, and employees, preparing comprehensive oral and written presentations/reports, and administering performance evaluations.
  • Ensure the division operates in compliance with all municipal, provincial, and federal regulations, and monitors contracts administration procedures for compliance.
  • Prepare budgets and provide justifications, ensuring that the division operates within budget and meets its financial obligations.

    Requirements:

    • Post-secondary degree/diploma from an accredited college or university in a related field.
    • 5 Years of supervisory experience in a fleet management environment or any equivalent related training and experience.
    • Knowledge of the principles of operation of gasoline and diesel engines and of mechanical repair on heavy trucks and construction equipment.
    • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize data, coordinate programs, and make decisions.
    • Possess experience in cost accounting, budgeting, and managerial practices.
    • Maintain effective communication and interpersonal relationships with various stakeholders.
