Kinectrics is a leading company in the energy and utility industry, recognized for its commitment to innovation, growth, and diversity. We are seeking a highly skilled Human Factors Engineer/Scientist to join our team.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a talented individual with expertise in human factors engineering to deliver high-quality solutions to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human factors methods, including task analysis, function analysis, and usability testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement human factors engineering program plans (HFEPPs) in accordance with CNSC REGDOC 2.5.1 and CSA N standards
  • Conduct verification and validation of human factors engineering solutions
  • Apply nuclear industry human factors guidelines, including NUREG-0711 and NUREG-0700
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement human-system interfaces
  • Conduct root cause analysis and workload analysis to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance human factors knowledge and skills

Requirements

  • 4-year university degree in engineering or science, with a focus on human factors in design
  • Human factors certification from a recognized body, such as BCPE or ACE
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer, or able to attain the designation
  • 3-5 years of experience in human factors engineering, with a focus on nuclear industry or high-hazard industries
  • Strong understanding of CANDU nuclear power plant design, operation, and regulatory requirements
