Key Responsibilities

Your role will involve providing human factors expertise to power generation utilities and other clients. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and experience in several of the following areas:

  • Development and implementation of Human Factors Engineering Program Plans (HFEPPs).
  • Creation and execution of verification and validation plans.
  • Application of nuclear industry Human Factors Guidelines.
  • Conducting task and function analyses.
  • Performing training needs analysis and usability testing.
  • Designing human-system interfaces and conducting root cause analyses.
  • Executing workload analyses and probabilistic risk assessments.
  • Implementing safety management practices.

Qualifications for Success

  • A minimum of nine years of relevant experience in applying human factors methods in high-hazard industries.
  • A four-year University degree in Engineering or Science, preferably with a focus on industrial engineering or human factors.
  • Certification in Human Factors from a recognized organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective reporting and presentations.
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer.
  • Understanding of nuclear power plant design and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in project management methodologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Proficiency in software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel and work at client sites as needed.
