About the Role



As part of Cineplex's commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, we seek an experienced Sustainability Leader to oversee the management of national facilities for our leading cinema chain.



Job Description:

This role focuses on leading and managing a facilities management team, ensuring sustainable practices are integrated into all aspects of facility operations. The successful candidate will research and implement innovative technologies, products, and practices to optimize energy efficiency, waste management, and eco-friendly solutions within Cineplex's facilities nationwide.



Responsibilities:


  • Lead the development and maintenance of Cineplex's sustainability strategy and programs, emphasizing facilities management and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Research, develop, and implement operational programs targeting facilities management and efficiency improvements to achieve water reduction, energy efficiency, and waste reduction goals over a 5-year plan.
  • Ensure corporate sustainability policies are regularly reviewed and integrated into facilities management practices, with a focus on carbon tax reduction, water reduction, and other savings over a 5-year plan.
  • Participate in industry groups and expert panels to maintain Cineplex's leadership role in sustainability, particularly in facilities management best practices, innovations, and carbon-neutral initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Facilities to manage efficiency projects, such as building automation systems and power factor corrections, aligning with the 5-year plan for carbon tax reduction and resource conservation.
  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive seating strategy, optimizing the utilization of spare pool and managing the repair/replacement of the existing fleet of seats (nationally).
  • Efficiently manage warehouse operations, including inventory management, procurement, and distribution logistics, to support facilities management and sustainability initiatives while minimizing waste and optimizing resources.


Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:




  • A Post-secondary education in a relevant professional discipline or an equivalent combination of education and/or progressive experience in the field of sustainability.
  • Proven experience in sustainability leadership, with a focus on facilities management and operational efficiency.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and implement complex initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of sustainability best practices, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to develop and execute long-term sustainability plans.
  • Experience managing budgets and financial resources effectively.
