We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Planning Data Analyst Lead to join our team at the Capital Regional District (CRD). As a key member of our Regional Planning Division, you will play a vital role in leading complex research, analysis, and mapping initiatives that drive informed decision-making for our region.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Regional Planning, you will be responsible for overseeing key divisional business data, including statistical and spatial databases related to transportation, land use, demographic, economic, and social information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the collection, maintenance, and distribution of business data, ensuring quality assurance and timely delivery.
  • Lead the development and implementation of data-driven strategies to support regional planning initiatives.
  • Analyze and interpret complex data sets to inform decision-making and policy development.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data needs and develop solutions to meet those needs.
  • Liaise with IT division to ensure seamless integration of data systems and applications.
  • Maintain expertise in GIS software and applications, including ArcGIS, to access, analyze, and report on spatial data.
  • Develop and maintain program monitoring indicators and data visualization products to communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
Requirements
  • Degree in a related discipline, such as geography, urban planning, or statistics.
  • A minimum of 6 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a local government or planning organization.
  • Advanced knowledge of GIS software and applications, including ArcGIS.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to present complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
