Description:

As an Advanced Care Paramedic with Alberta Health Services, you will be responsible for assessing emergency scenes and patients, and providing critical care to those in need. You will work in a fast-paced environment, using your skills and knowledge to make a real difference in the lives of your patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess emergency scenes and patients, and provide critical care as needed
  • Transport ill or injured patients from scenes of emergency and/or between facilities
  • Administer medications, advanced life support (ALS) airway adjuncts, and electrical therapy as required
  • Lead ALS crews in delivering clinical care during patient transport or at emergency scenes
  • Ensure that ambulances or other Emergency Medical Services (EMS) vehicles are properly stocked and equipped

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Advanced Care Paramedic program
  • Active registration with Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) as an Advanced Care Paramedic
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP)
  • Valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence with no more than six (6) demerits
  • Completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (test taken no more than six (6) months prior to the application date)
