Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paramedic to join our team in Grande Prairie. As a Paramedic with AHS, you will be responsible for assessing emergency scenes and patients, providing advanced life support, and transporting patients to medical facilities. You will also have the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including urban and rural areas, and to develop your skills in leadership and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess emergency scenes and patients, and provide advanced life support as needed
  • Transport patients to medical facilities, using ambulances or other modes of transportation
  • Administer medications and other treatments as prescribed by medical professionals
  • Lead ALS crews in delivering clinical care during patient transport or at emergency scenes
  • Ensure that ambulances and other EMS vehicles are properly stocked and equipped
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited Advanced Care Paramedic program
  • Active registration with Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) as an Advanced Care Paramedic
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • Valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence with no more than six demerits
  • Completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (FARE) test, taken no more than six months prior to the application date
