Job Opportunity: Advanced Care Paramedic

Are you a skilled and dedicated Advanced Care Paramedic looking for a new challenge? Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking a qualified individual to join our team in High Prairie, Alberta.

About the Role

As an Advanced Care Paramedic with AHS, you will be responsible for assessing emergency scenes and patients, providing medical care and transportation, and working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess emergency scenes and patients, and provide medical care and transportation as needed
  • Administer medications, advanced life support (ALS) airway adjuncts, and electrical therapy as required
  • Lead ALS crews in delivering clinical care during patient transport or at emergency scenes
  • Ensure ambulances and other EMS vehicles are properly stocked and equipped
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Completion of an accredited Advanced Care Paramedic program
  • Active registration with Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) as an Advanced Care Paramedic
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • Valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence with no more than six demerits
  • Completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (FARE) test within the past six months
