Interior Health Authority is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in a permanent, full-time capacity. As a key member of our primary care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals and families in our community.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnosis and Treatment: Diagnose and treat patients with undifferentiated diseases, disorders, and conditions within your scope of practice.
- Health Monitoring: Monitor ongoing care, order appropriate screening diagnostic investigations, and interpret reports to monitor progress and plan treatment.
- Patient Education: Communicate with patients and families about health findings, diagnoses, priorities, outcomes, and prognoses, and support and counsel patients in their responses to diseases, disorders, and conditions.
- Collaboration and Consultation: Collaborate and consult with physicians and other healthcare providers as necessary to assess and diagnose patient status, develop and implement treatment plans, and admit and discharge patients to facilities according to organizational policies.
- Prescription and Medication Management: Prescribe medications within statutory and regulatory standards, limits, and conditions for Nurse Practitioners and within applicable employer policies and procedures.
- Leadership and Supervision: Assign work to other nursing and healthcare personnel, evaluate work, provide education and supervision as necessary, and participate in the hiring and evaluation of staff.
- Research and Quality Improvement: Participate in research contributing to improved patient care and advances in nursing, health policy development, and population health.
- Population Health Focus: Implement screening and health promotion activities for populations at risk, and participate in interdisciplinary staff and nursing education through case presentations, mentoring, role modeling, and facilitating the exchange of knowledge.
