Part Time Case Worker Evening

Job Summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Part Time Case Worker Evening to join our team at the Brantford Booth Centre. This is a 15 hour per week, permanent part-time position with flexibility in scheduling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain an active caseload and provide problem-solving and referral counseling to shelter and CRF clients.
  • Complete intakes and assessments on each resident and develop a network of referrals to existing services and resources in the community.
  • Design and implement an interview schedule to evaluate the quality of life improvement of successful program participants.
  • Provide assistance to front desk personnel as needed and record activities and incidents occurring during the shift.
  • Work closely with and carry out tasks assigned by your supervisor.
Working Conditions

This position requires flexibility in scheduling and may involve working with potentially aggressive clients. The work schedule is determined in consultation with your supervisor and may vary according to requirements of responsibility.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • University/College diploma in Social Service and/or combination of education and related life experience.
  • Possess current First Aid, CPR, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certificates.
Experience and Knowledge
  • Demonstrates knowledge of community-based resources and ability to work with socially disadvantaged people.
Skills and Capabilities
  • Competent on word processing equipment and excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work with federal release clients to develop and carry out a life plan.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to forty pounds and undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully.
