Financial Planning Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Planner to join our team at BMO. As a Financial Planner, you will be responsible for providing financial and investment planning advice to our customers, helping them achieve their financial goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Provide financial and investment planning advice to customers, identifying their needs and providing solutions through the sale of managed products and services.
- Develop and implement business development strategies to acquire new business, including outbound calling campaigns and cultivating branch referrals.
- Engage with customers to grow BMO's business, generating appointments and building new relationships within the community.
- Identify opportunities to generate referrals for personal and commercial banking products, such as personal banking, lending, and investments.
- Support the achievement of sales and performance targets, developing and implementing a relationship management plan to meet the needs of clients.
- Respond to customer investment requests, fulfilling investment product needs aligned with the customer's goals and referring them to partners where appropriate.
- Develop solutions and make recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.
- Break down strategic problems, analyzing data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
- Execute work to deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service, introducing clients to investment strategies and working with them to set goals and make real financial progress.
- Probe to understand customer personal investment and banking needs, integrating marketing promotions and programs into customer conversations to provide strategic advice.
- Look for ways to contribute to the ongoing improvement of the overall business results and customer experience delivered.
- Maintain current knowledge of personal investment products, practices, and trends, integrating them into customer conversations.
- May work at multiple branches and through various channels based on market needs to deliver the desired customer experience and achieve overall business objectives.
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, protecting the Bank's assets and complying with all regulatory, legal, and ethical requirements.
- Typically between 3-5 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CFP designation preferred or one of the following: Personal Financial Planner (PFP) designation, Wealth Management Essentials (WME) + Financial Planning Supplement, Professional Financial Planning Course (PFPC), Financial Planning I & II (FP I & II).
- Canadian Securities Course - Licensed to sell mutual funds excluding QC or IQPF in Quebec.
- Advanced working knowledge of the financial industry.
- Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience.

- Analytical and problem-solving skills - In-depth.
- Influence skills - In-depth.
Starting salary is $55,000 plus upward commission potential. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure.
BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
