Financial Accounting Specialist

At S3 Group Ltd., we are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. This full-time position involves preparing and reconciling Balance Sheets accounts monthly for our company. Key responsibilities include analyzing financial information for management review, preparing government reporting and remittances, and performing record bank reconciliations for multiple divisions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- Experience in a manufacturing environment considered an asset
- Greater than 3 years of accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial accounting or audit role
- Ability to work autonomously
- Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Ability to ask critical questions, verify data, follow instructions, and employ business reasonable judgment
- Proficiency with accounting software, MRP or ERP systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, including higher level skills in Word, Excel and Outlook
- Enrollment in the CPA program considered an asset
Reporting Relationships:
- Reports directly to the Corporate Controller
Inter-Relationships:
- Must work closely with all departments and levels of management
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and reconcile Balance Sheets accounts monthly for group
- Analyze financial information for management review and ensure the timely and accurate financial information
- Prepare government reporting and remittances (GST, PST, Receiver General)
- Perform record bank reconciliations for multiple divisions and assist S3 Group divisions in more complex transaction recording
- Maintain the fixed asset ledger and reconcile to general ledger accounts
- Assist with preparation of divisional statements month-end consolidated financial statements
- Assist Corporate Controller with the audit of internal controls in all S3 business units
- Cash flow management, including forecasts and analysis
- Complete complex financial accounting transactions
- Back up support to Corporate Controller
- Participate actively in finance department leadership
- Interim financial statement preparation and analysis, including daily and weekly financial metrics
