We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated lawyer to join our team at Field Law, a regional law firm with a strong reputation for excellence in insurance defense litigation.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on complex and challenging cases in a niche industry, while being supported by an experienced team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage files including pleadings, questionings, applications, pre-trial conferences, mediations, and trials.
  • Analyze the probable outcome of claims and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for trial or to negotiate settlement.
  • Gather and examine evidence to ascertain the facts of the case.

Requirements

  • A current active membership with a Canadian Law Society, with 1-3 years of demonstrated competency in insurance defense or other litigation.
  • Demonstrated experience synthesizing complex information and crafting clear and persuasive written and oral arguments.
  • Solid technical grounding in legal research demonstrating an attention to detail combined with superior evaluative and analytical abilities.
  • The ability to work independently and within a team.
