We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Insurance Counsel to join our team at TD Bank. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in handling complex insurance legal matters and representing the company in civil litigation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective legal strategies for questioning, investigation, and trial of cases
  • Communicate with insurance analysts and clients to ensure seamless case management
  • Conduct necessary and appropriate questionings, applications, trials, and mediations
  • Research and stay up-to-date with developments in insurance law and regulations
  • Draft and review legal documents, pleadings, and applications

Requirements

  • Completion of law school with LLB and admission to the bar in Alberta
  • 5+ years of experience as a lawyer with a background in insurance defense litigation or other litigation
  • Strong knowledge of insurance law and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
